Oct. 16 DEP Citizens Advisory Council Meeting To Focus On Chesapeake Bay Program

The DEP Citizens Advisory Council is scheduled to meet on October 16 to hear an update on efforts to clean up rivers and streams in Pennsylvania to meet local water quality goals and the Chesapeake Bay pollution reduction milestones.
Veronica Kasi, Director of DEP’s Chesapeake Bay Program Office, will provide an overview of the data-driven planning process used by the PA Chesapeake Bay Watershed Planning Steering Committee, county-level water pollution reduction action plans, initiatives with county conservation districts and funding provided so far applied to this effort.

Also on the agenda is a discussion of the transition paper the Council will present to the person taking over as Governor in January.

The next scheduled meeting of the Council is November 13.
Don Welsh, former EPA Region III Administrator, President of the PA Environmental Council, DEP Deputy Secretary for State/Federal Relations, among other positions, serves as Chair of the Citizens Advisory Council.
